A perfect storm of fluffy snow on the ground mixed with warmer temperatures means Newport is getting outside to play, even in the wintertime!
We bundled up in our snow pants, jackets, hats, boots, and mittens and headed out to the park! Then the real fun began. Students made snow angels, rolled the snow into snowballs, constructed snowmen and other buildings, and even got resourceful to go “sledding”! Smiles were abound as we kicked off February with winter merriment!
Teamwork even came into play as Blue Toddlers, Yellow PreK, and Kindergarten classes set out to make their snowmen masterpieces! They used shovels, snow building blocks, and good old fashioned rolling techniques as they molded the snow into their creations.
Yellow Pre-K’s snowman fit for an ice palace!
The Kindergarten Snowman
Even the infants got to get outside for some fresh air in their snowsuits!
Altogether, it was delightfully fun time in Chicago. Now we’ll brace ourselves for more snow to come in the next couple days! If we’re lucky, maybe it’ll be warm enough to play in the snow some more over the weekend!
