World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated every year on 3/21 to signify the triplication of the 21st chromosome.  To show our support and raise awareness about Down Syndrome, Newport classrooms will walk around Roscoe Village. We urge all families to dress their children in blue and yellow with fun socks!  Additionally, families can come and watch their children in the parade outside!  We walk west from the school towards Wolcott and then head South towards Roscoe to make a full lap around the block before ending up back at school!  All families are encouraged to come watch.  Additionally, children not in attendance on Tuesday are welcome to join their class in the parade.  If you plan on taking your child home afterwards, please let them go back into the school and pick them up from the classroom so we can account for everyone’s safety!
