Some exciting guests came to visit Newport Children’s Academy on Tuesday, October 20th, A Petting Zoo!

Animal Quest provided an amazing opportunity for Newport students, toddler age and up, to meet animals they might meet on a farm. There were ducks, a chicken, a goat and a very fuzzy rabbit.

Mai and Ping, the Pekin ducks

Our annual petting zoo event got pushed back a little this year due to Coronavirus. But the reschedule did not dampen our enthusiasm to meet and pet all the animals. Normally the zoo would visit during Farm week, October 12th – 16th.

Nell, the goat, and Popcorn, the chicken, delighted toddlers to kindergarteners.

Nell, the goat, is a mix of Fainting and Pixie goat breeds.
Popcorn is a Australorp chicken. She has short, super-soft feathers. She enjoys walks in the rain and napping on laps.
